The wine industry has long been dominated by a narrow slice of voices—but that’s changing. A new generation of Black-owned wine brands is bringing bold flavor, culture, and authenticity to the table, and we’re proud to be part of that movement.

At Love Cork Screw, we’re not just a wine brand—we’re a vibe. A lifestyle. A statement. And we’re in great company.

Whether you’re sipping for the culture, exploring new flavors, or looking to support more diverse businesses, here’s why now is the time to discover and uplift Black-owned wine brands—starting with us.

Meet Love Cork Screw

Founded by Chrishon Lampley, Love Cork Screw is one of the first Black woman-owned wine brands to go national in the Midwest—and to proudly include nutritional facts on our labels (a first in the industry!).

We started in 2013 with just six varietals. Now, you’ll find Love Cork Screw wines in over 1,800 retailers across the country—including Target, Whole Foods, and Total Wine. Our wines are flavorful, approachable, and intentionally named to connect with real-life moments:

  • Head Over Heels (Riesling)
  • Hard Knock Life (Concord)
  • We’re Movin’ On Up (Cabernet Sauvignon)
  • Good Times Good Friends (Pinot Grigio)

Plus, our line includes wine-scented candles and Head Over Paws pup toys that take the wine experience beyond the glass.

We’re not just here to pour—we’re here to inspire.

Why Supporting Black-Owned Wine Brands Matters

The wine industry has historically lacked representation from people of color, especially Black women. Supporting Black-owned brands means:

  • Investing in economic empowerment
  • Elevating diverse flavor profiles and stories
  • Breaking down industry barriers
  • Changing the narrative around who wine is for

When you sip with intention, you’re part of a cultural shift. And yes—it can taste this good.

More Black-Owned Wine Brands We Love

Want to fill your wine rack with more excellence? Here are a few of our favorite fellow trailblazers:

  • McBride Sisters Wine Company – Founded by two sisters from opposite sides of the globe, their Black Girl Magic collection is iconic.
  • Brown Estate – Napa Valley’s first Black-owned estate winery—known for their incredible Zinfandel.
  • Theopolis Vineyards – Founded by trailblazer Theodora Lee (aka “Theo-Patra, Queen of the Vineyards”).
  • Maison Noir Wines – Sommelier André Hueston Mack’s Oregon-based label brings flavor with attitude.
  • Shoe Crazy Wine – A woman-owned, family-run wine brand with heart and hustle.
  • Abbey Creek Vineyard – Known as “The Crick,” this Oregon winery is unapologetically original and culture-driven.

There are so many more. And the list is growing.
